The
Quiet Garden Movement fosters the provision of garden space intentionally set
aside for sanctuary, refreshment and solitude, and is now encouraging these
tranquil spaces of natural beauty in organisational settings, such as schools,
prisons and hospitals. They will provide opportunity for stillness, refreshment
and spiritual reflection for staff or client usage.
Within our communities, the design of buildings, the lack of
diversity in structure and form, the lack of access to green space, and high
noise levels can have an adverse effect on mental health. They contribute to
feelings of insecurity (i.e., fear about safety), social isolation and
stress...

The
Movement welcomes links with others who share the inner search for wholeness,
natural beauty and stillness, and who are open to dialogue to deepen our common
purpose. Any institution wishing to be linked formally with the Movement through
the establishment of a Quiet Garden may receive Associate status.
