A Country Spot: The Quiet Garden
at Sifton, Manitoba, Canada

A humble Quiet Garden edged with stones and set against a prairie grove, with the sounds of horses grazing across the fence, give some idea of our Quiet Garden at Sifton, Manitoba, Canada. Wild asparagus in abundance, blue daisies and prairie roses have joined our cultivated efforts. Our Museum summer student has put many hours into creating a winding stone path leading from the garden through the little grove, hauling the rocks from a beach eight miles distant. A bench seating ten faces the garden, a good spot for acquiring the sunshine vitamin. Beside the QG is the tall, onion-domed Church of the Resurrection built in 1926, now gleaming in restored beauty. In spring we hope to add poppies in profusion.
