Spring 2009

garden.jpg (6632 bytes)The Quiet Garden is open from 9.45 am to 3 pm for you to enjoy a day of reflection. The pattern of the day alternates between more formal input one week and a reflective morning the next.

You may like to read, walk in the garden, or visit the nearby church of St Giles where Thomas Gray wrote his famous Elegy. You are welcome to stay for the whole day. Hot drinks are available but do remember to bring lunch. For those who are able to make a donation, £5 per visit is very welcome.

Led Mornings and Quiet Afternoons
On these days we are guided by an invited speaker. The sessions begin in the Long Room promptly at 10 am and end at 12.30 pm. Then you are most welcome to stay on for the rest of the day.

Exploring Prayer Together
These guided sessions explore different ways of deepening our experience of prayer and meeting with God in the silence. Starting promptly at 10.00 am we end at 12.00 noon - again, you are welcome to stay on for the rest of the day.

Theme for this term: Pilgrim People - Following the Way
Each of us starts from a different place, but we are all called to follow the same Way and, as St Augustine wrote, our hearts are restless until they find their rest in God.
